Please note that the AGM will be held next Tuesday, 25th Feb at 6:30pm. All members are expected to attend and all courts will be closed while it is being held. Please see details below of the nomination and election process and positions available, as well as an amendment to the Club's Constitution.

Positions available for election

The following positions will be elected at the AGM. If you are interested, or would like to nominate someone who is interested, please complete a voting form and put it in the box at the bar, or let Sophie in the office know on Proxy voting forms will be available on request.

Executive Committee

Squash VP

Tennis VP

General Executive Members - the following positions within the executive committee are particularly critical moving forward: Sponsorship Coordinator, Grants Coordinator and Social/Events Coordinator.

In addition there needs to be a Tennis and Squash sub committee to support the two VP’s and to stand in for them at Exec meetings if required. These positions do not get voted on at the AGM but are critical to the ongoing success of the club, so please indicate your interest.

We cannot have the entire club workload fall on a few shoulders. President Palmer has offered a Poem for you all which is shown at the end of this notice. Be warned!

Motion to Amend the Club Constitution

Please note the following item for the AGM on Tuesday, 25th February.

It is hereby moved that item 22.1 of the club constitution be amended to read:-

  • At the end of each financial year the Executive Committee shall decide by way of a simple majority whether or not to have the annual financial statements of the Club audited and the audit shall be carried out by the auditors voted in at the annual AGM should the Executive Committee so vote.

Gary's Poem

I give you this poem by the world renown An On Y Mous.

Are you an active member, the kind that would be missed?

Or are you just contented that your name is on the list?

So you attend the meetings and mingle with the flock.

Or do you meet in private and criticize and knock?

Do you take an active part to help the work along?

Or are you satisfied to be the kind that just belongs?

Do you work on committees, to this there is no trick,

Or leave the work to just a few, and talk about the clique?

Please come to the meetings often, and help with hand and heart.

Don't just be a member but take an active part.

Think this over, members, you know what's right from wrong.

Are you an active member, or you just belong?
