Entries closes on Sunday April 1st for the Herne Bay Open 2018. This event will take place at the Club from the 6th to 8th April 2018. This is part of the Prince Series and will be the first fully digital squash tournament in NZ. There is still time to enter via iSquash. The tournament will be Par 11 for all divisions and local players may be required to play on Thursday.
We are looking for volunteers to assist on the bar during the Herne Bay Open. At this stage we have the following times available:
Friday 6th: 6pm: (two volunteers required please)
Saturday 7th: 11am, 1pm, & 5pm.
Sunday 8th: 11am & 1pm

The Herne Bay Ponsonby Rackets Club Inc will be holding their AGM on Thursday 12th April 2018 at 6:30pm in the Herne Bay Ponsonby Rackets Club Clubrooms, 10 West End Road Herne Bay.
The Herne Bay Ponsonby Rackets Club Inc is made up of a minimum of 5 and maximum of 9 officers. All officers automatically retire annually at the AGM and shall be eligible for re-election. Nominations are due by 5pm on Thursday 5th April. Please contact the office for a nomination form.

Current Members of the HBPRC who are Full Members, Plus One Members, Student Members and Juniors over 16 years receive a special gym rate of $230 per year (GST inc). Gym only membership is $400 per year (GST inc).

Have you secured your place in the draw by completing the entry form? Preliminary rounds will be played Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings over the next couple of weeks, or as agreed between competitors. Finals day is Sunday, 15 April, followed by prize giving and barbeque. A rain date of Sunday, 22 April has been set aside.
Tournament Director's decision on draw will be final and entry fee is a flat $10 for a maximum of three events. Draws will be available shortly.

Class still on this Easter Monday - I'm not going anywhere! Both the 9:30am and the 10:45am classes will still be running.
We have the opportunity to host another St John's First Aid Course. We have two options:
1. Refresher course for those who have in the past two years completed Level 1 or 2 and need to revalidate their First Aid certificate because they are a designated first aider.
2. Beginner First Aid for those who don’t hold a First Aid Certificate and would like to gain a qualification.

There is no Junior Club Night this week due to Easter.

Open starts week beginning 30th of April to week beginning 2nd July.
Masters starts Wednesday 2nd May to Wednesday 2nd August.
Ladies squash mornings continue every Tuesday at 9:30am with Priscilla Wildsmith. All welcome.
The series begins in a few weeks time! This series is open for all junior squash players 1500 points and below. If you do not have a grading, but would like to compete, please contact Jarrod. There is a division suitable for all levels under 1500 points, including beginners.
The series will include five junior one day tournaments across four different clubs, including Herne Bay. Proceeds from the series go towards junior squash introduction initiatives. Series ranked players will receive major prizes such as racquets, bags, and more!

We are in need of Bar Volunteers to fill our roster. The commitment is one night per month, or pair up with someone and do every second month. No experience is necessary and training is provided.
