As usual there will be prizes for the round-robin winners and best-dressed on the day; for this one we want you to dress up channelling your greatest American hero.
All are welcome to this fun themed doubles event, so make it an early start to the upcoming season and come down for some tennis and an unhealthy helping of hotdogs and donuts. $10 entry fee.
The draw for summer senior interclub has been made by TennisAuckland, so those of you who have expressed an interest to play this season should expect an update via your captains this week. Round one of Open and Presidents comp starts Saturday, 9 September.
Entries are now open for the 2017-18 pre-Christmas junior interclub competition. The competition is open to juniors 18 years and under as at 30 April, 2018. Note there will be a Premier grade trialled this season for elite juniors graded S8 and above.
We need to supply team lists to TennisAuckland by Sunday, 24 September, so if your child wants to play please contact Jacqui at service@hernebayrackets.co.nz now with your child's name, DOB, and competition / play day preference if you have one.
Can your child serve and rally? Weekly coach-led game-play junior club nights are running for the Term 3 pre-season on Fridays from 4.30-6.30pm. Get your child along for a some great competitive tennis! To secure a place text or email David Mustard on 021476606 or mustardtennis@xtra.co.nz, making sure you specify your child's name, age, and ability. All welcome, no charge for members and if your child has a non-member friend who wants to come along and check it out, they're welcome too, but expect to approached about considering one of our great membership options or pay-as-you go $10 fee after you've tried it a couple of times. Confirmation of session go-ahead will be texted to you Thursday prior. The club cafe will be open from 6pm with a selection of items for kids and parents, so come along and make the most of it.

Last week we had our annual squash Club Champs. Entries were a little light on all divisions especially in the women’s with only four women entering. There were 26 entries overall with half of them being for C Grade Men. Hopefully we can improve on this in 2018. However there was still lots of rivalry and banter on and off the courts, and a fun tournament was had by all who played.
Thanks to everyone who helped out over the event and to those who did take the opportuntiy to compete.
