The club would like to officially welcome Mike Weston on board as our resident squash club coach. Mike has a wealth of experience behind him and is available for group or individual sessions at both junior and senior level. There are some posters around the club advertising Mike's services and current drill sessions, and feel free to introduce yourself if you see him around the club helping out! For all you budding dart professionals out there now is your chance to take on your fellow members straight after a friendly game of squash or tennis! We are now the proud owners of a high quality tournament standard darts board, installed on the noticeboard beside the club manager's office. Darts are available on request or from behind the bar, and please note that the board and darts are for senior members use only. A very big thank you to Malcolm Davidson for donating this all to the club - THANKS MALCS!

We're all hoping the rain stays away this weekend as we have the Margaret Schot Memorial Tournament on Saturday 29 August with 15 women's doubles teams competing for the trophy.
This tourney is run every year in memory of past member, Margaret Schot and always attracts a strong field, so come on down on Saturday and watch some great tennis.
On Sunday at 10am our Mixed 2 team are playing the final round of winter interclub against the grade leaders, Kohimarama. They need to beat them 6-2 in order to win the grade, so come along and lend them your support.
7 summer interclub teams have been submitted to Tennis Auckland, who are in the process of finalising and publishing the draws. We hope to have rule-books and tennis balls available for collection from the office from Sunday 30 August, but we'll email captains with an update, shortly.
Finally, a big thank you to all the members and volunteers who came down to club day on Sunday and made it such a fun day. The weather was brilliant and it was great to see all the courts in action long into the afternoon.

Tennis Auckland have requested entries for Junior Interclub. This is played on Saturday's or Sunday's mornings leading up to Xmas. If your child is a member of HBPRC, can serve, score and rally, then we would love to register them.

Please note that Auckland Squash are trying a new format for Spring Interclub of mixed teams based on points. This means there will be some teams if not all which will have a mixture of males and females in them.
Entries close Tuesday the 15th September. Please note that you need to sign up if you want to play - entries will NOT be rolled over from Winter Interclub.

Happy Hour begins at 6pm and will run to 7.30pm. Kendals Kitchen will be open with Burgers and Fries.
Both Squash & Tennis club nights will run with Tennis Drills & Thrills starting at 6.30pm - first in first served and Squash will be hosted by Angela Q and runs from 7pm.
We are still looking to fill a couple of nights during the month. Dates available are: 3rd, 4th, 16th, 22nd & 27th of the month. The commitment is only one night per month and if you pair up with someone it's only every second month!
This is a great way to 'do your part' for the Club like so many others have before you. If we don't have volunteers the bar is un-manned and this can be a problem when we have visiting teams and events on at the Club, not to mention thirsty members who need a drink!
No experience necessary and all training is provided and a few free drinks while you're there! Contact Jacqui in the office if interested.
