Hi all

I hope you squashies are easing into the Autumn games without too many strains and groans! I can hear some choice language coming up the stairs from time to time so maybe it's a painful start to the year... Not so for our tennis players who are wrapping up their seasons as you'll hear about below. Don't forget Club Champs are coming up for Tennis and we are gearing up for another great Club Night on Thursday - I found one last Chapel Bar & Bistro voucher which we'll give away this week.

Also did you see our Club on the tele? See link below and be ready to go awwww...

Have a safe and happy start to the week!

Sophie, Club Manager

Open Presidents 5 are victorious!

A big congratulations to our Open Presidents 5 team who hung in there to win their grade and earn a pennant for the Bay! In true Herne Bay style the team led by John Hetet made a late run for the top of the leader board and managed to hold on for the win. Well done to everyone in the team and all those who kindly filled in for them during the season.

Results from the Interclub ‘Battle of the Bay’

Our Open Mens 2 teams slugged it out in front of a rowdy home crowd on Saturday. There were some quality games played in great spirit (except for one dubious line call from a usual suspect!). The end result was a close 4-2 win to Marko’s team, but Herne Bay tennis was the winner on the day and judging by the hangovers on Sunday – the after match function was a good one!

CUTE ALERT!!

Last week was a bit exciting for a number of our Junior players, as they had a little visit from the Campbell Live team! I won't spoil the story, so click on the link and find out why Herne Bay rackets is a very special place indeed... Fast Forward to 19:00... http://www.tv3.co.nz/CAMPBELL-LIVE-Friday-March-7-2014/tabid/3692/articleID/98352/MCat/2908/Default.aspx
