Monday nights are soon to be packed with Tennis action… Starting Feb 16th @ 7pm, teams of 2 men and 2 women will compete in a fun but competitive doubles tournament – best of three tiebreak sets. The tournament will run for 5 weeks and will be round robin each week. You will be guaranteed 3 matches each night and there will be PRIZES!!! Limited entries of 6 teams apply, so register your, or your teams’ interested ASAP to David Mustard on 021 476 606 or email mustardtennis@xtra.co.nz.
Get your little angels ready for Junior Tennis Club night! Starts 14 Feb and there are two sessions depending on the age / skill of your future Nadal or Ivanovic.

Junior squash coaching starts Tuesday 18th and Thursday 20th of Feb. Turn your little rascal into a squash pro with Club Coach Chris Lloyd. The programme will be for 6 weeks, either Tuesday or Thursday and at 2 times: 3:15-4pm for 6-9 year olds and 4-4:45 for over 10s and Interclub players. Squash NZ is collecting used squash gear to donate to Oceania Squash development projects. This year, any donated goods will be sent to Papua New Guinea for their new junior programme.
Do you have any old squash gear (rackets, clothing, bags, shoes etc) that could be donated?
Donations are due in early March so I will receive any donations at the Club office up until the end of Feb. Also, any squash gear that’s been in lost property now has a destination, so please collect any lost property you don’t want to go to PNG! There are some nice rackets behind the bar…

Anyone dying to get behind the bar and serve our lovely members their hard earned beers and wines? Why not become a bar volunteer? It’s fun, social and best of all you get some freebie drinks and $50 off your membership after a year. You only need to commit to one session per month and if it doesn’t work for you then you can always swap with someone. You can join up with a mate and share the load, or take turns and only have to do it every other month. Due to some long serving volunteers leaving recently, we have three spots available.

For those who don’t know DnA, or Defenders and Aggressors, this is a fun, very fast doubles tournament for all levels. David and his team feed the balls so there’s no serving, and points are awarded for winning points at the net. Great skills for your doubles play and heaps of fun too.
Keen on getting your fitness up this squash season (it’s only 4 weeks away!). Join up with Club Coach Chris Lloyd as he takes you on a journey of pain in 6 weeks of squash fit sessions. Starts next Tuesday 11th Feb at 6 and will run for 6 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 12 sessions $100 up front or $10 a session casually. The first session is testing so make sure you’re there! Please note that as Thursday is a Public Holiday, our precious bar volunteers will be on holiday too, so the bar will not be open. I've heard a rumour that there will be plenty of members up here though so come up for a hit and hit someone up for a drink! Eftpos only. Back to normal on Friday.
