You're all invited to a working bee on Sunday, 1 September, which will be a great opportunity to brighten the club up prior to our scheduled open day the following weekend. We'll mainly be tackling basic cleaning jobs, the sort of thing you can tackle if you turn up with a bucket, cloth and some surface or window cleaner, plus clearing out a lot of old junk that's been hanging around the clubrooms, for which you just need to bring your energetic selves. We look forward to seeing you there. BBQ will follow the bee. Start time TBA shortly!
While we have a sizeable collection of wines in waiting for tasting, we've had to postone this for a few weeks due to other items prioritizing in the calendar and will reschedule in weeks coming.
We are very fortunate to have a wonderful locale and superb club facilities and we have been getting more bookings to use the facilities for events and functions that do not always correlate with usage of the courts. These are importnat revenue streams for the club and will allow us to invest in new stuff to make the place even better for our members! We will try to advise of what's going on at the club during these day bookings so that if you are planning to come down in non-peak time you will know what to expect: for example this week TVNZ have been running a Risk Management course here at the clubrooms during the day. It's been interesting watching re-enactments of injured and violent scenarios and how journalists should deal with them! Our clubrooms are so versatile! Contact the office for facility booking enquiries if you know of anyone looking for a venue like ours, and note, our rates do compare very favourably!
The leak has been fixed, and next stage is to relay the flooring; this will commence next Monday, so please take care and be mindful of works in progress next week.
