Non Marking Shoes

Despite our previous notice on this subject two weeks ago, it is disappointing to find that Squash Court 1 has sustained further and significant damage through the use of non-marking shoes. This is much worse than previously reported.  Could all members please watch out for this and if you see someone, then speak with them immediately. It is your club and we are all responsible for looking after it.

Gym update

Luke Sniewski has been appointed to be the Head Personal Trainer at the gym, commencing from 15 May 2018.  Luke will be tasked with driving membership and engagement at the gym and will bring on some additional PTs under him as well.  With the grant money we received we are able to make a few more changes to the gym to make it more functional and you will see more of Luke around the gym from the middle of May.   Luke will also be looking to offer fitness classes and boot camps for members that want to participate that way.

For squash and tennis Club members, a membership add-on for the gym is only $230/year.  For those using the gym that haven’t signed up with the Club yet since Martin left, please see Jacqui about doing so.

Squash this week:

Herne Bay Open - wrap up

A few weekends ago we held our annual Herne Bay Open Squash Tournament. The tournament was a great success with a massive 123 players from around Auckland and the country participating. For this tournament we partnered with Double Dot Squash and SportyHQ to deliver the first fully digital squash tournament in New Zealand! This was a massive success with all of the players enjoying the new tournament experience. This tournament was also proudly sponsored by World Journeys.

Congrations to Ed Dromgool who was this years Herne Bay Open Winner.

Only the brave will be out walking

I've always thought that in the animal world, bears have the right lifestyle. Eat all summer and sleep all winter. I am at my laziest in winter and I have to have a plan to ensure that I don't become too much like a sloth when I feel cold.

The Plan. And you definitely need a plan. If you don't have a plan then you are not going to move.

Need help?

If you would like me to sit down with you to develop a winter exercise regime for you to achieve, then I am only a text or email away. There's no charge but I won't say no to a coffee.

Do you want a new class time?

If you would like a new class time for you and your friends then simply email or text me the time and day that would suit you and your friends and I will try to make it a permanent class time for Term 2. Otherwise class times are Monday and Thursday 9:30am
